Brushstrokes in Painting

This is a note to inform you about my recent fun project, a pamphlet on, Brushstrokes in Painting: My Personal Notes on Everything You Need to Know to Help You Create Exciting, Spontaneous Paintings.

During the lockdown, I offered a zoom master class to a handful of painters. A question about brushstrokes came up. My interest and love for brushstrokes are strong enough, I decided to write a short personal note to help artists who love brushstrokes.

With six weeks lockdown of free time for research, the essay grew from notes to the an insightful essay on brushstrokes: everything you need to know to help you create exciting, spontaneous paintings. For effective reading, visual pleasure and enjoyment we assisted the text with masterpieces in history by some of the best portrait painters.

Limited knowledge of brushstrokes results in disorder, clumsiness, chaos, messiness and distraction from a painting’s quality and purpose. Brushstrokes if used skillfully engages viewers and create movement, drama and fun to a painting’s quality and purpose.

Because of a last minute publishing deal, we printed a little more than we needed for my students, former students, and my mentees. For a small/savings cost you could own the essay for yourself or a gift for a friend.
